Abdelkader Metales, CTO of CAAISE (https://caaise.com) and creator of the AI platform UGotAI (https://ugotai.com), holds a doctorate in economics. As an AI expert, his work bridges applied econometrics, statistical modeling, and machine learning. His interests lie at the intersection of two traditions: the econometric approach, focused on causal identification and valid assumptions, and the statistical learning approach, centered on accurate out-of-sample prediction.

This book emerged from that dual perspective. It was developed concurrently in R and Python, allowing readers in either ecosystem to follow every example directly while observing the instructive differences between implementations.
